Questions practitioners ask first
Is CareerAlign a psychometric test?
No. It is a structured self-assessment. Your client tells us about their interests, values, strengths, preferences, motivators, experience and constraints, and we score those responses transparently against career profiles. We do not measure personality traits or aptitude, and we do not claim the statistical validation a psychometric instrument carries.
Do I need an accreditation to use it?
No, and that is deliberate. It is designed to be interpreted by a qualified career development practitioner using professional judgement, rather than gated behind a separate publisher's accreditation and per-administration licence fee.
How is the alignment score calculated?
By a deterministic scoring engine that weights eight dimensions. The same answers always produce the same score, and you can open the full calculation for any career — including which dimensions drove the result and which held it back.
Can the AI change a score?
No. Scores are computed before any language model is involved. The model receives a decision that has already been made and puts it into readable language. It cannot alter a score, invent an assessment result, or surface a career the engine did not rank.
Where does the career information come from?
Career profiles are structured against Australian occupation and qualification frameworks — ANZSCO classifications, AQF levels and nationally recognised training. Where a code is indicative rather than confirmed, it is marked as such. We do not publish salary or employment statistics we cannot source.
Can I put my own branding on client reports?
Yes. Client-facing reports carry your practice's logo and contact details.
Can another practitioner see my clients?
No. Each practice is a separate tenant, isolated at the database level by row-level security rather than by filtering in application code. A query that forgets its tenant filter returns nothing rather than everything.
What happens to my clients' data?
Your client consents to the assessment and to you seeing the results, separately and explicitly. Clients can request export or deletion of their data at any time. We do not sell data and we do not train models on client responses.
